Hello hello everyone and welcome back to another day of Haute Take!!

OMG!!! I hope you all had a great spring break! So I spent my break doing a little organizing for an interior design business, and I was so inspired by the different fabric types, furniture and moods that I saw in the office. So for today’s blog, I thought it would be interesting to mix interior design and fashion (since they are such closely related fields), and give you guys some outfits based on a few different interior design styles! Now I definitely had to do some research on the different styles, so forgive me if some of the images don't totally match what you know as that style!! Blame google! Anyways, let’s get into it :)

California coastal

California coastal design is light, breezy, and relaxed, 100% inspired by the laid-back, chill  lifestyle of the West Coast. It features neutral colors, natural textures like linen and rattan, and plenty of sunlight to create an effortless beachy feel.

To get into the fashion, I wanted to pull from that same light and airy vibes of these houses. I'm picturing what someone from California might wear out to dinner with friends. So for this look I am going with a nice floppy sunhat, kitten heel sandals, a linen pants and top set, and a nice brown bag. Put together but still beachy!

Midcentury modern

Midcentury modern is that cool retro vibe that somehow never goes out of style. With clean lines, warm wood furniture, and fun pops of color, it feels simple, functional, and effortlessly stylish.

For this outfit, I am picturing a cool girl vibe, but still cozy and put together. for this look I chose a yellow turtle neck paired with cream colored trousers or jeans, then add on a black belt and black loafers. Throw on some interesting geometric earrings and a black bag and you fit right into this space!

Traditional

Traditional design is classic, timeless, and super elegant. It features rich wood furniture, patterns, and symmetrical layouts that make a space feel polished and put together.

To compliment this space, I am thinking something super cute but still classy. Let's go with a white boat neck sweater and burgundy skirt, with some white ballet flats, and topped off with a gold detailed headband and floral patterned bag.

Maximalist

Maximalist design is for the people who believe more is more. Bold colors, layered patterns, tons of art, and statement décor all come together to create a space that’s full of personality.

This is the most chaotic and dramatic look. You want to mix colors that some people may think won’t go well together, but the shades match ever so perfectly while still being eye catching and fun. So for this look go with a multicolored silk blouse, some bright pink pants, and a yellow bag. Add on some big colorful bracelets and platform sneakers and you will look like you just stepped out of maximalist heaven.

Minimalist

Minimalist design is the polar opposite of maximalist. It’s all about keeping things simple and uncluttered. Neutral colors, clean lines, and only the essentials create a calm, peaceful space that feels super refreshing.

Now this is where our super simple, monochromatic, neutral outfits thrive. I am thinking a nice matching ivory set, tan kitten heels and a tan bag. Yup, that's it! Truly minimalist if you ask me.

Scandinavian

Scandinavian design is simple, cozy, and effortlessly chic. Light woods, soft neutrals, and comfy textures make spaces feel bright, warm, and inviting.

For this one I am going to go with  a simple, neutral sweater (preferrable white), that is oversized but still structured paired with some straight leg trousers in grey, light blue-grey flats, and silver jewelry. It gives off that calm, cool tones energy that I think Scandinavian design is going for.

Modern Farmhouse

Modern Farmhouse style is cozy, charming, and feels instantly welcoming. With natural wood, neutral colors, and vintage-inspired details, it creates that warm, homey vibe everyone loves. This is probably (I would say) one of the more popular design choices of this generation.

This look is giving someone VISITING a farmhouse, but not necessarily from there... if that makes sense? To go with this look I am thinking just a simple white flowy dress some tan cowgirl boots and a lace bow. This look could also have minimal jewelry, but really only a simple gold necklace or hoop earrings.

Rustic

Rustic design brings the outdoors inside with lots of natural materials like wood, stone, and leather. It’s warm, earthy, and gives off the cozy cabin in the mountains energy.

For this look I tried to really match the vibes of the outfit completely. To go along with this, I went with a cropped leather jacket, zipped up, black jeans, black boots, and a little rustic looking hat. You're ready to brave the wilderness.

Bohemian

Bohemian style is colorful, relaxed, and totally free-spirited. Layered rugs, plants, fun patterns, and eclectic décor create a space that feels creative and full of life.

We hear about boho style in fashion, so I decided to channel that energy for this outfit. I am going with a crochet cardigan with cream tank underneath, a floral headband, and wicker bag. For bottoms, I am going with skinny jeans, though they are not totally my vibes I think they match this perfectly, and also ankle boots, which I also would not personally wear, but match this vibe.

WOW so there you have it everyone!! Outfits based on some of the more popular interior design styles! This one was so much fun to write, so let me know if you want a part 2!! Comment your favorite look below! Until next time!💗🥰

xoxo,

Leah <3
