Hi everyoneee and welcome back 😊

It’s time for another installment of Brand of the Week, where we break down the marketing moves, latest drops, and brand news of the biggest names in fashion.

This week, we’re talking about none other than Chanel—the definition of timeless luxury. From Coco Chanel’s revolutionary designs to the brand’s ultra-exclusive marketing strategy, Chanel has maintained its spot at the top of the fashion food chain for over a century.

With their Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection making waves at Paris Fashion Week, there’s no better time to dive into what makes Chanel the moment. Let’s get into it! 🖤

Target Audience: Who is Wearing Chanel?

Chanel’s target audience is the epitome of sophistication—fashion-forward individuals who appreciate luxury, exclusivity, and timeless elegance. From affluent professionals and high-net-worth individuals to style-savvy millennials and Gen Z consumers aspiring to own a piece of the brand’s legacy, The brand’s appeal spans generations, captivating long-time loyal customers who swear by classics like the Chanel tweed jacket while also enticing younger audiences through modern products, collaborations and digital storytelling. Whether it’s an established fashion connoisseur or a trend-conscious shopper saving up for their first Chanel bag, the brand effortlessly balances prestige with desirability.

The Four P’s of Chanel’s Marketing

Like all brands, Chanel’s marketing revolves around the four p’s of marketing, product, price, place, and promotion. Let’s take a look at Chanel’s! In terms of product, Chanel offers haute couture, ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, and beauty products, all crafted with impeccable quality and timeless appeal All of Chanel’s products are entirely hand-crafted by talented designers and artists, adding to it’s exclusive and one of a kind feel. As a high-end luxury brand, Chanel employs a premium pricing strategy that reinforces exclusivity and long-term value. For place, Chanel boutiques are strategically located in prestigious fashion capitals, providing a luxurious and immersive shopping experience. And for promotion, from artistic campaigns to experiential marketing, Chanel’s promotional strategy is rooted in storytelling, celebrity endorsements, and digital engagement.

Celebrity Endorsements and Cultural Influence

Chanel knows exactly who to pick to represent its brand. Over the years, their list of ambassadors has included Dua Lipa, Lily-Rose Depp, Margot Robbie, and many many more. What do they all have in common? They’re effortlessly cool, stylish, and just unattainable enough. By working with A-list actresses, musicians, and models, Chanel maintains its high-fashion reputation while staying relevant to new generations.

Carefully curated endorsements ensure authenticity, aligning the brand with individuals who resonate with its core audience. Beyond their traditional campaigns, Chanel incorporates these celebrity influences into experiential marketing, such as exclusive pop-up events, exhibitions, and charitable initiatives, strengthening customer loyalty and brand prestige.

The Power of Chanel No. 5

Since its launch in 1921, the Chanel No. 5 perfume has remained a symbol of luxury and timeless elegance. Its success stems from a combination of iconic packaging, a classic scent, and strategic celebrity endorsements from legends like Marilyn Monroe to modern-day ambassadors. They recently created a campaign featuring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, two very big names in the world today.

Limited-edition releases and artistic collaborations further sustain its relevance, making Chanel No. 5 not just a product, but a cultural artifact that continues to captivate generations. Chanel also has several other iconic perfumes, from men’s Bleu de Chanel, to women’s Coco Chanel Mademoiselle, which I personally own (it’s so good and lasts foreverrrr).

Digital Engagement and Social Media Strategy

For a brand rooted in old-school luxury, Chanel knows how to work the digital world without losing its exclusivity. They’re not flooding your feed with ads or begging for attention—they don’t have to. Instead, Chanel curates its social media like a perfectly edited fashion magazine, giving us sneak peeks into dreamy photoshoots, behind-the-scenes moments from Paris Fashion Week, and those iconic runway reveals that feel like cinematic masterpieces.

To continue, instead of random paid ads, Chanel plays it smart with carefully chosen influencers and celebrities who fit the brand’s aesthetic. They emphasis qualities like quiet luxury, effortless chic, and never trying too hard. Whether it’s the A-listers rocking Chanel on the red carpet or top fashion creators unboxing a classic Flap Bag, the brand thrives on organic buzz.

Chanel knows how to keep people engaged. Interactive Instagram stories, exclusive online drops, and the occasional blink-and-you’ll-miss-it product launch create major FOMO. Their YouTube channel? A center for high-fashion storytelling, from dreamy mini-films to archival footage. Chanel may be a century-old brand, but online, it’s serving modern society worthy content that keeps luxury feeling fresh, relevant, and totally aspirational.

Conclusion: The Timeless Appeal of Chanel

Chanel’s marketing is the ultimate masterclass in luxury branding. They mix classic elegance with modern flair, keeping things exclusive while also utilizing the digital scene. Whether it’s iconic runway shows, limited drops, or one-of-a-kind shopping experiences, Chanel is always ahead of the game, shaping the luxury world and getting everyone in the fashion world obsessed. With a commitment to pure excellence, Chanel stays the ultimate symbol of timeless style, setting the bar for luxury fashion marketing. SO with all that being said, let’s get into the Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection released just a few weeks ago!

Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture Show

If you have ever seen a Chanel show, you know that there’s always something magical about it. This season, Virginie Viard and Matthieu Blazy delivered a collection that felt both classic and fresh, embracing signature Chanel codes while playing with new proportions and textures. The collection featured an assortment of soft pastels, tweed, tweed and more tweed, puff sleeves, statement black belts, and flowy, ethereal fabrics. It was classic Chanel with a fresh, playful twist, so let’s break it all down!

Soft Pastels and Flowy Fabrics

Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2025 couture collection was something like a daydream, made of cotton candy skies, garden parties, and chiffon fabric floating in the breeze. This season, the runway featured a palette of delicate pastels—blush pinks, baby blues, and soft yellows—giving everything a fresh, romantic glow. It was like stepping into a fairy tale,

but make it couture.

But the real magic was in the FABRICS! Flowing silk, organza, and tulle created movement with every step, making the models look like they were literally gliding instead of walking. These breezy, moving textures balanced out Chanel’s signature structured tailoring, proving that elegance can be both powerful and soft.

Tweed, Tweed and More Tweed!

If there’s one thing you can always count on at a Chanel show, it’s tweed, and this season, they really went all in. From the classic structured suits we all know and love to playful new silhouettes that gave the fabric a fresh, modern edge.

Pastel tweeds added a soft, feminine touch, while metallic-threaded tweeds sparkled like little couture disco moments lol. There were long, elegant tweed coats, cropped jackets with frayed edges for a cool, undone vibe, and even flowy pieces that made tweed feel lighter than ever.

Statement Details: Puff Sleeves, Black Belts & Bows

In this collection, Chanel took classic elegance and sprinkled in just the right amount of playfulness and uniqueness with puff sleeves, bold black belts, and bows.

The puff sleeves added a unique twist to Chanel’s classic jackets, creating an element of drama and surprise in this new collection. They really brought the drama, whether that was in a good way or not is subjective.

While some pieces pulled off the puff sleeves well, it felt slightly boxy on others. And of course, Chanel had to play with the addition of a black belt to several outfits. Although I do love a good black belt and it is a classic Chanel piece, I felt like some of the outfits could have used a different color to really pull the outfit together. I felt like the black slightly distracted from some of the looks, which were gorgeous on their own. Going along with the bold black pieces, they included a variety of bows in this collection, which I always love. However, again, I felt the black kind of took away from the beauty of the outfit itself.

Even despite this, the statement details are a huge part of Chanel’s brand, and they have mastered the art of adding them into their looks effortlessly (most of the time...sorry is that a haute take? Lol).

My Top 3 Looks!

Chanel did a beautiful job creating a collection that felt so light and airy and got every fashion lover excited and ready for spring to see these gorgeous looks out in society.

Although all 55 looks had something beautiful to offer, three looks took the cake for me.

3rd place was definitely the hardest to choose, because there are so many beautiful looks in this collection. So, lets start with two honorable mentions that were the runner ups for third place. Up first we have this cream off the shoulder jumpsuit. The pops of black and classic Chanel, and in this look I didn’t feel as

though the black belt took away from the outfit at all. Also... THE SHOES? I love.

The other honorable mention is this blue tweed dress. The reason I didn’t choose this one for 3rd place is because I felt like the black belt just took away from the look, and it would be gorgeous without it. The shape, color, material, all of it was gorgeous and provided the perfect Chanel vibes while still being unique and never seen before.

In 3rd place we have this all-black matching tweed dress and jacket. I felt like this outfit really captured the essence of Chanel haute couture, and I think the colors felt really balanced. The gold buttons and detailing add just the right amount of pop while not being too over the top. Also... the little PINK detailing?? Perfection. This outfit is just the right amount of sophistication and elegance without being too “it’s cute but I wouldn’t wear it out.”

In 2nd place, we have this gorgeous matching set. This feels like something I would have seen Princess Diana stepping out in. The green, blue and purple coloring is just gorgeous, and the skirt is the perfect length that meets in the middle of too short and too modest. Also, I am not totally sure what the type of fabric is, but it looks to be incredibly comfy, but not in a loungewear way.

And finally, in first place, we have this beautiful, flowy, elegant one piece. This is giving something Lily Vander Woodsen would wear in Gossip Girl. If I saw someone walking down the street in this outfit, I would be convinced I was in the presence of literal royalty. Like picture it with a slightly messy curled updo dangly earrings, and a white bag? perfection. The diamond detailing on the sleeves and neck are just perfect and adds just the right amount of sparkle without looking cheap. Although I think the belt could have been just a tiny bit thinner, however it is still GORGEOUS as it is. I do think it could have been paired with different shoes though, probably just plain white? But that's just a minor detail 😊

SO to conclude, Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection was the perfect mix of timeless elegance and playful new twists. From dreamy pastels and flowy fabrics to the tweed takeover and bold statement details, this collection had something for everyone—whether you love classic Chanel or want a fresh, modern edge. While some design choices sparked debate, there’s no denying that Chanel knows how to keep the fashion world talking. And at the end of the day, that’s what makes them iconic.

So there you have it! I hope you all enjoyed this brand of the week :) Let me know what your favorite looks from the collection are! Until next time!!

Xoxo,

Leah <3
