Well hello everyoneee and welcome back to another day of Haute Take!!! Today, we are diving into one of my absolute favorite topics—red carpet fashion at the Oscar’s!! I have to admit these “Top 5 Looks” posts are honestly my favorite to do, so I have been AWAITING the Oscar’s simply for that reason (but can we talk about how Ariana Grande didn’t win? Robbed.).
From Old Hollywood glamour to bold, boundary-pushing statements, the Oscars have been a fashion goldmine since their debut in 1929. So, who brought the drama, the elegance, and the jaw-dropping moments this year? Let’s get into it!

But before we start, we have to begin with an honorable mention (of course). This post’s honorable mention goes to the one and only, Andrew Garfield, who wore this all-brown monochromatic look by Gucci. Now typically I wouldn’t have a man in my top 5 posts, no offense men, only because it can be harder for men to bring out any dramatic or shocking outfits. However, Andrew Garfield really stepped out with this look. Now I know it is simple; however, it is very different from the typical black and white tux that you will usually see men wearing on these red carpets. I am also always a fan of a good monochromatic look, and this brown looks great on him and is definitely very appealing to the eye (my roommate actually screamed when she saw it lol). The only thing I would change? Lose the glasses. But overall, he looks great!

In fifth place, we have Dancing with the Stars SENSATION, Julianne Hough. She is wearing this gorgeous beige Dior dress and let me just say, she looks absolutely stunning. I always love a good fluffy tulle/chiffon moment, and this is the perfect amount of classy and understated. I love the one shoulder, and this color looks amazing on her as well, the different tones in the fabric give it so much depth and makes it 10x more interesting and appealing. Also, the HAIR and the makeup? Perfection. She is giving old money elegance, and I am totally here for it.

In fourth place, we have the Emelia Perez star, Zoe Saldana in this custom Saint Laurant gown by Anthony Vaccarello. I think this look is absolutely stunning, and so unique. I love the dark red/maroon color, especially on her, and I think the mesh top is so interesting and still looks so elegant, which is hard to achieve with mesh. The rhinestone detailing on the bust as combined with the strapless design (I LOVE a good strapless moment) add the perfect flattering touches. Zoe is totally bringing back the bubble style dress that was so popular in the past few years, and I am literally loving it. She has been wearing many Saint Laurent pieces throughout the entirety of her press tour, but I have to say, this one just might be my favorite. The only thing I would probably change is the Cartier choker, it is gorgeous, but I feel that it takes away from the look as a whole. Overall though, she looked stunning!!

In third place, we have this absolutely beautiful red gown worn by Zuri Hall. I honestly love everything about this dress. The color, the silhouette, the styling of the fabric into a rose, EVERYTHING. I also love the gold jewelry that was chosen for this look, I think it matches both the dress and Zuri’s skin tone so well. I love that this dress is your classic Hollywood glamour but also has a unique detail that adds a level of surprise and awe that wouldn’t be there if it didn’t have that extra little something. Overall, so elegant and classy!! I love.

In second place, is the one and only Lily-Rose Depp in custom Chanel haute couture. Lily-Rose Depp is just one of those people who just looks so effortlessly cool no matter what she wears. She is often seen wearing darker colors, so this lace black halter dress perfectly matches her aesthetic. It gives classic, Hollywood glamour with a modern and youthful twist. Now I love Chanel, and I think this dress is so gorgeous, so I did some extra research and discovered that the design was actually inspired by an archival dress Lily-Rose saw in Chanel’s Spring 1995 couture collection. It also took 515 HOURS of work to make, and around 191,000 embroidery elements were used in the making of the dress. How INSANE. That is just a testament to the time and effort that these luxury fashion brands put into these looks, and the reason they are referred to as luxury in the first place. The dress was also made with the same lace that Marilyn Monroe wore in white to the How to Marry a Millionaire premiere in 1953, someone who Lily-Rose looks up to immensely in her career. Overall, I think this dress is absolutely gorgeous and the story behind it only adds to the appeal. Gorgeous!!

And finally, in first place, of course, my girl, Miss Ariana Grande. She has been crushing it in the fashion game lately, although maybe that’s biased for me to say because she’s been wearing a whole lot of PINK due to her most recent role as Glinda in Wicked. She stepped out on the carpet last night in this custom Schiaparelli haute couture gown, and I absolutely love it. The bodice of the gown is the perfect pale pink color, and the beige/off-white tulle with the SPARKLES just adds so much uniqueness and boldness to the look. It is giving Glinda like nobody’s business, which I love. Also, the little flower accenting on the top of the gown adds such a beautifully subtle detail. I did some research on this outfit as well, hehe, and I found that the gown contains a OVER 190,000 crystal sequins and rhinestones on the stunning skirt. Insane. The bubble shape of the dress was also inspired by Christian Dior’s work in the 1950s, combining romanticism with classic couture structure, and we all know how much I love Dior. Overall, I absolutely love love this look, especially on Ariana. She killed it!! (How did she sit though?)
Now before we close off, I wanted to acknowledge some other looks that we saw from the night that weren’t on the carpet, from the after party looks to Ariana Grande’s ruby slipper ball gown in which she performed “Defying Gravity” with Cynthia Erivo, these celebrities really brought the drama with their looks. Here’s just a few I love:

And that’s a wrap on my favorites from this years Oscar’s !! I hope you all enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it 😊 Let me know what your favorite looks were!! See you next time!!
