My Winter Color Palette

Hi hi hi everyone!! Welcome back to Haute Take!!!

Happy day 1 of 12 Days of Blogmas!!! Winter is the season where color choices matter the most. With heavier layers, fewer outfit variations, and a lot more repeat pieces, the tones you gravitate toward end up defining your entire look. Lately, I’ve been thinking less about trends and more about the colors that feel elevated, cozy, and effortless all at once. This winter, my palette is neutral at its core, with a few rich accents that make outfits feel intentional without trying too hard. So let’s get into my palette for this winter!!

At the base of my winter wardrobe are soft neutrals. Think colors like cream, ivory, and warm beige. These shades instantly brighten winter outfits and pair effortlessly with everything from tailored coats to chunky knits. I love how they feel polished yet relaxed, especially when layered head to toe for a monochromatic look.

Next come the darker anchors that ground the palette. These are colors like charcoal gray, deep brown, and classic black. These tones add structure and contrast, especially in outerwear, pants, and boots. Brown has been my favorite alternative to black lately: it feels slightly softer and more modern while still being just as versatile.

To keep things interesting, I’ve been leaning into rich, muted accent colors. Deep forest green, burgundy, and subtle navy add depth without overpowering an outfit. These colors work best for sweaters, scarves, or bags; small doses that elevate neutral looks and make winter dressing feel more intentional.

Finally, I’m finishing outfits with soft metallics, especially gold. Whether it’s jewelry, belt hardware, or bag details, warm metallic touches bring a little glow to otherwise understated looks and tie the whole palette together.

Overall, my current winter color palette is all about balance: clean neutrals, grounded darks, and a few thoughtful accents that make everyday outfits feel elevated. It’s simple, repeatable, and perfectly suited for cold-weather dressing. When getting dressed feels easy but still put together, that’s when winter style really works. Thank you for reading today’s blogmas!! Keep an eye out for tomorrow's!!!

Xoxo,

Leah <3
