Things I Find Chic

Hello hello everyone!! Happy Friday and welcome back to another day of Haute Take!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Today I was inspired by a trend going around tik tok currently...things I find chic. I realized I use the word chic a lot in Haute Take, so I figured why not compile a definitive list?? Obviously I can’t fit it all in one blog, so let me know if you want a part two in the future!! So without further ado, here are some things I find *chic* and will defend forever, some obvious, some a little niche, all non-negotiable.

Brown, always.

Black will forever be a classic to me, but especially right now, brown has my heart. It’s warmer, softer, and somehow feels more intentional. The right shade of brown always makes an outfit feel expensive and put together without trying too hard, ESPECIALLY when you wear a monochromatic brown look. It looks like you thought about it, even when you didn’t.

Flare sleeve tops (yes, specifically).

This may be a little niche, but I don’t care. A subtle flare sleeve instantly elevates a top. It’s romantic, slightly dramatic, and gives movement without being over the top. It’s also SO SO flattering. I’ll take a flare sleeve over a basic long sleeve any day. It’s the difference between “getting dressed” and styling, and just adds a little bit of drama that is always needed.

Short nails.

Short nails are understated and polished. They say clean, effortless, and grown. There’s something so chic about hands that look natural and unfussy, especially with a sheer pink gloss or french tips. No distractions, just quiet elegance. (throw on a gorgeous ring and you’re golden)

Flat claw clips.

Not the chunky ones, the flat, low-profile claw clips that sit neatly at the back of your head. They feel very “French girl running errands,” very put-together without being precious. AND you can actually lean back with them. Functional, sleek, and cool in a way that doesn’t scream for validation.

Kitten heels.

Kitten heels are just so chic. I love them. They’re practical and graceful in the best way. There’s something confident about choosing comfort and style, like you know exactly where you’re going and you don’t need to rush.

Ballet flats.

Timeless. Simple. Chic. Ballet flats ground an outfit in a way nothing else does (besides kitten heels I guess lol). They’re soft and elegant but still wearable, which makes them feel very real-life chic, not costume chic.

Turtlenecks.

A turtleneck instantly sharpens any look. It’s clean, it’s intentional, and it always feels smart. Whether layered under something or worn on its own, a turtleneck gives “I know who I am” energy.

Skinny sunglasses.

I know they’re controversial. I don’t care. Skinny sunglasses add edge and attitude, even to the simplest outfit. They’re instantly cool, and literally elevate any outfit.

Faux fur.

Nothing feels more luxe. Faux fur adds texture, drama, and softness all at once. It’s the kind of piece that transforms an outfit instantly, and suddenly you’re not just dressed, you’re styled.

A good blowout.

A blowout changes everything. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, if your hair is smooth and bouncy, the entire look feels elevated. It’s classic for a reason.

At the end of the day, chic is totally personal. Don’t follow rules or copy someone else’s aesthetic, it’s about finding the things that make you feel confident, composed, and powerful. Thank you so much for reading today’s post! See you next time 😊

Xoxo,

Leah <3
